CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE YOUR BUSINESS’S SAM REGISTRATION OR TO MIGRATE YOUR ORCA CERTIFICATION OR CCR REGISTRATION.
SAM can help change how you do business by combining nine separate legacy systems into one easy to use program. Registration with SAM provides business owners with one account to log in and access all the features and capabilities that were available through the separate legacy systems. SAM consolidates the system’s data into one single, user-friendly database. This can help reduce the chances of duplicate data while sharing your data across the award life-cycle.
Complete your SAM Registration if any of the following apply:
- Filing for a new SAM Registration (previously known as ORCA Certification/CCR Registration)
- Renewing a current SAM Registration
- You are a vendor in the private sector wanting to do business with a federal government/agency
- You require an active SAM (CCR) Registration to apply for government grants at Grants.gov
- You require a DUNS Number, MPIN, and/or CAGE code for a current SAM Registration
- You are a school/university or a government entity/agency and would like to receive federal assistance
- You want to register and become certified in order to receive FEMA contracts
- Your Authorized Contracting Officer (ACO) mandates that you are registered and certified due to being a subcontractor under a prime contractor
- You would like to optimize or modify your profile with the Small Business Administration (SBA)
Attention: Due to the current migration of the ORCA/CCR legacy systems to the System for Award Management (SAM), the approval process for registration of new entities and registration renewals may take several weeks.
Vet2Gov provides migration and registration services for the SAM system so business owners can focus on running their business. If you choose to complete the registration process on your own, there is a 350 page instruction manual available by clicking here.
The System for Award Management (SAM) is the official system provided by the U.S. Government that combines the features of CCR/FedReg, EPLS, and ORCA. There is NO fee to register your business with SAM, and if you choose to complete the registration process yourself, you can view our Help Page and download the “How To” PDF.
If you choose to hire Vet2Gov as an outside consultant for your business registration or migration, there is a one time fee of $995. Vet2Gov specializes in business compliance systems to secure contracts, credit, and complete the registration or migration process.
Contracting Resources for Small Businesses:
There are many options available for small businesses seeking federal contracts when it comes to representing your company to potential buyers, researching opportunities available in the federal marketplace, and helping better understand the competition. To better prepare your business for federal contract opportunities, it is important that you have a solid understanding of these available resources.
System for Award Management:
If you are all prepared to begin bidding on federal contracts, it is still necessary to submit your business profile to the primary federal database that agencies utilize to find contractors. To send your business’s “resume” to one of these agencies, you must first register with the System for Award Management (SAM). This will allow federal agencies to search for your business based on factors such as: size, location, experience, capabilities, and ownership.
Existing CCR Registrants:
If you or your business already has a current record in CCR, you have a corresponding record in SAM. Unless there is a change in your business circumstances that would require an update to your Entity Record, it is not necessary for you to complete any further registration with SAM at the current time. SAM sends notifications to the registered user’s email 60, 30, and 15 days, prior to the expiration date of your business registration.
To update your Entity records, or to renew them in SAM, you will need to create a SAM User Account and link this to your migrated Entity Records. It is not necessary to have an existing user account to search for entities registered in SAM, you can accomplish this by entering the DUNS number or Business Name into the search box.
